Application to present a Poster Session at the 11th Annual
Smart Marriages/Happy Families Conference
June 28-July 1, 2007

The purpose of the poster sessions is to provide the opportunity for conference
attendees to become acquainted with the latest research and program and
practice innovations in the field of marriage, family and couples education.

Posters will be "open" and available for viewing throughout the conference: Wed, June 27 - Sun, July 1.

Posters will be located in the high-traffic exhibit area.

Each poster will be allocated a 4 ft x 4 ft space on a 4 ft x 8 ft standing poster board.
Boards will be available for set up at  9am Wednesday, June 27.   We would like all posters
in place by 4pm Thursday. Posters can stay on display until 6pm, Sunday, July 1.
Any remaining after 6pm will be removed and materials disposed of.

Poster presentations will be confined to the 4 ft x 4 ft space.  However, tables will also
be made available for poster handouts.  Each poster session will be allocated space on a
table to place one stack of handouts  - the size of a regular 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper.

We have openings for up to 12 poster sessions.

A list of poster sessions and presenters will be published in the on-site packets and
on the smartmarriages.com website

Before submitting an application, please read Presenter Agreement below.

1. POSTER TITLE: Up to 60 characters including spaces and punctuation.

2. POSTER DESCRIPTIONS: Up to two pages describing the content of your presentation and
its implications for the practice of marriage, family and couples education and/or for the advancement of the
marriage-strengthening movement.  Include an 800# and a website url, if available for the Poster List at the
Conference and on the smartmarriages.com website. 

3. PRESENTER NAME(S),  degrees, postal address, daytime and evening phone numbers, street, city, state,
zip, country, email address, 800#, website url, and a one-line job description.

4. Email your curriculum vita with this application or mail it to address below.
Send a vita for each presenter who is new to the Smart Marriages conference. Those who
presented at a prior Smart Marriages conference should send an updated vita if there have
been significant changes. Vitas must include professional education and training; degrees;
institution and year each degree received and major area; publications; presentations;
and any pertinent experience that qualifies you as a presenter at Smart Marriages.

5. List the years of the annual Smart Marriages conference you have attended,
and at which you presented: 1997 - present.

6. PRESENTER AGREEMENT:
Presenters, through the submission of this application, acknowledge that they have read,
UNDERSTAND, and AGREE to the following:

a)  As part of the effort to promote skill-based education, presenters at the Smart Marriages
conference agree to participate in the full conference and pay full conference registration fees.

b)  Appropriate "Releases of Confidential Information" have been obtained for any client/trainee
materials that will be used as part of this presentation.  The responsibility for protecting client/trainee
confidentiality rests with the presenter(s).

c)  Presentation will not violate trademarks or copyrights of other's materials or property.

d)  It is not possible to offer presenters honoraria or travel expenses.

e)  Presenters are responsible for the costs of producing and mounting the poster session materials including any
handouts and materials they may choose to supply to attendees.  Presenters will bring push pins to
mount their posters.  Tape and adhesive can NOT be used to attach posters to the boards.

f)  CMFCE will provide the boards upon which the poster sessions will be mounted at no cost
to the presenters.

The General Conference Program begins on Thursday, June 28 at 6:30pm with an opening plenary session and
reception in the Exhibit area and concludes Sunday, July 1 at 9pm with a closing banquet. Workshops/Mini
Trainings/Seminars will be scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday (June 29, 30, and July 1). Conference
registration is $345. (student or spouse rate: $245). The registration fee includes, 8 plenary sessions (18 keynote speakers),
seven 90-min workshops including Mini Trainings, and the Thurs opening night reception.  Wed, Fri and Sun night banquets ($37 each), and pre and
post conference training institutes ($130 per day with conference, $180 per day without conference). The conference
program brochure and registration materials will be mailed and emailed to all presenters and to over 200,000 people across the
country and around the world.
