Life Coaching with Couples: The NEW
Profession
Patrick Williams, EdD and Lisa Kramer, MSW
Participants will learn the
specific applications of Life Coaching
skills to coach couples who want to move forward to create a
more
fulfilling relationship. Includes skills practice, demonstration
and
practice-building tips. $50 spouse discount.
Life Coaching has burst upon the
scene. People see the value of
having a professional coach who can assist in designing their
future -
rather than getting over a past.
Life Coaching (aka
personal and professional coaching) has evolved from the
blending
of the fields of counseling, consulting, organizational
development, human potential training.
It is a
perfect transition
profession for therapists, counselors, educators,
clergy
and other helping professionals who want to offer coaching as a service in their
office, community, church or synagogue - or, by
telephone.
A Life Coach is a partner
who works with individuals, couples, families and
organizations
who desire to narrow the gap between where they are now and where
they want to
be in any and all areas of their life - personally and
professionally.
Relationship Coaching is a
specific application for work with individuals and couples
who want to live and work more purposefully and
authentically.
Participants will learn the steps
to begin relationship coaching with individuals or
couples.
Participants will also
understand how to take the steps to gain coaching
certification to add
credibility and competence. (Note: While certification is not
yet required in the coaching profession,
we'll help you understand how to add this credential.)
Institute participants will
receive: A tape of Dr Williams interviewing therapists
who have successfully transitioned to full-time coaching, generous
handouts,
and a discount for additional training with the Institute for Life
Coach Training.
Here are just three of the many rave reviews from previous Smart
Marriages conferences :
"Taught what coaching is and how it differs from therapy and then
provided opportunities for
hands-on application and practice."
"Life Coach was the best one-day training I have ever
attended."
Elizabeth Amazaki, MSW
"We are excited about continuing our marriage work and
incorporating
coaching in it. Thank you so much for your time and
expertise."
Mary and Kent Dyer, 2006 participants
